How did it get so late already? I was awake for all of today. ALL OF IT. What the fuck happened, time?
Anyway, my buddy Kegan found some kid with a drum set, and he wants me to play guitar. Here's the fun part: he wants a GRINDCORE BAND. Example:
I told him I'd humor him with a jam session. But if this turns into a situation where the vocalist is making the guitarist his bitch, I'm fukkin runnin.
Also, I'm leaving for Pennsylvania Thursday morning. Annual family Christmas trip. Whatever.
coordinate their bad days with mine, I think I'd be a happier person.
I really wish you'd let me in.
Imagine you were going to initiate a social movement. Explain
- what change you would seek and why,
- what kind of movement you would start and why your movement fits into this category,
- how you might frame your cause and whom this might motivate to participate.
(I only have ten minutes on this exam left and I decided I would return to this question after the rest. I could not come up with anything truly meaningful to me in that time so here's something that's not so serious.)
This isn't so much of a change as it is to get people to feel a sense of accomplishment over helping other nations instead of people just sitting around, complaining about whether or not we help out other nations enough. I propose that every year, we find a really bad-off place, like the situation in "Invisible Children" for example, and we take one cent out of every person's income in more established areas like here in the States and in England. No one is going to complain about a penny coming out of their paycheck in regards to this cause. Last I checked, New York City has a population around seven million, if every person there participated, that would be $700,000 going to a worthy cause.
As far as promotion, I could get a group of like-minded people together, Facebook works wonders, and we could write letters to the government, requesting this. We could do some marches in cities to get the word out to more people, it would be cool.
So, I've had my second practice with my drumming homie Jordan today. I told him to think punk music when we were jamming and he nailed it perfectly and we were finally able to connect as a "band." It was nice. We need to figure out how to get our tempos right, we go back and forth with playing too fast for eachother. I made him listen to Hella and it altered his little classic rock universe. He now knows what I'm talking about when I tell him to "go crazy" and he's going to work on it, hahaha. I also went all post-rock on him today and broke out the loop effects. It was fun.
I only have class on Monday and Friday then I'm off. Niiiice. I'm so fucking excited about Monday night.
Dear Ms. Seay,
I was a total spaz after trying to recite my poem in front of the class and when I said I had a free period at noon... I meant 11. Right now I'm right at the third story of the building. Apparently you need a firstcard to get to your office, but my wallet got stolen recently and I haven't replaced my card yet. I have a class at noon, so I can't be here for much longer, but if you get this email really fast, I'm sitting on the benches where the hallway widens.
Otherwise, will you be available around 1? I can use my laptop in my next class so I'll keep checking my email.
Thank you,
Kevin.
Apparently my alarm clock likes to re-set itself to whatever time it feels like, OR:
[10:03] Kevin: [...] maybe I set it in my sleep
[10:04] Tony: I set it.
[10:04] Kevin: Oh.
[10:05] Kevin: Maybe that's why there was porn left open on my computer and Persona 3 was in my PS2
[10:09] Tony: I thought I was all stealthy, guess not.
[10:09] Kevin: Yeahhh
There's this freakishly skinny girl in my sociology class, she has really deeply set eyes, and in general looks really unhealthy. She sits in front of my and has a laptop, so I can't help but notice what's on her screen. She goes to some website called Slim Down ______, I couldn't read the blanked part, but that's all you really need to know. It's scary.
On a completely opposite note, Kegan's coming over today, and I get to see This Will Destroy You in Raleigh on Monday. :D:D:D:D
