We had some ridiculous winds today. My neighbor's tree hit their house, we had a shingle come off our roof and scrape past dad's Charger. That car has the worst luck. We lost power for four hours and I was freaking out because I have stuff to print out for my 8:00 class tomorrow. Thankfully, it's back on.
Here's what I did Friday.
I really don't want to go to college tomorrow, I have two exams, and then two the next day. I've decided that if I don't do well on my Art History exam on Tuesday, I'm dropping the class and switching to a BA. Art History really isn't for me.
So it turns out that my campus internet dilemma was due to my password for their Novell system expiring. It's happened before, but when I was in the superlab, it gave me a warning. Since I don't have to print off any papers in a hurry this semester, I haven't had to use the superlab and therefore was NEVER TOLD about my password expiring. For some reason my email was still working even though it was on the same system. So yeah, I changed my password and the internet worked. WHAT THE FUCK.
Design class is fucking stupid, by the way. Did I ever mention that? My teacher gave us a really small assignment to do that took me an HOUR to do. He gives us three weeks to do it. In three weeks, I have six of his classes, the classes are each three hours long. 3*6= ~17 wasted hours. Attendance is mandatory. Someone needs to send me Earthbound so I can get that started up again. I've been wanting to play that and this is the perfect opportunity to do so, since he lets us use our laptops.
I put on a little art show in one of the hallways in the Graham building. I was making a new piece in Apophysis and people started crowding around watching me, so I eventually showed them my other stuff and there was a bunch of "Woooaahhh"'s going on. No one tipped me, figures. There's new stuff on my DeviantART by the way, I'm still working on more.
I met a dude who goes to 4chan and we hit it off super well. We talked about SSB: Brawl for a while. Nikita's throwing a party either the day of or the day after its release. :D
March is going to be a fun month, why is February being SO BORING?
I got banned from the campus internet today for accidentally clicking my /b/ bookmark rather than the blackboard site bookmark. I guess there was some sort of bannable offense on the page at the time (one can only wonder, considering the site) and the next time I tried getting on the internet, it just made an empty page over and over. Ugh.
I got a 100 on a surprise exam (for the Greek Civ class) for which I didn't even read the material. Also, I take back the douchebag comment, he's a nice guy. My design teacher is a douchebag. I can't find foam board big enough for his fucking requirements. Oh well, I'm 30-something square inches away from the minimum and he'll just have to suck them.
The last little rubber cushion thing on my laptop came off and now it is prone to sliding off of desks. But I'll definitely be using it less from now on anyway, thanks to the internet ban. Appealing that will certainly be fun!
At least I have the cake to look forward to.

So much has happened in the last four days, I'm still trying to take it all in. I've been getting everything I want, in small degrees, I just felt like I've been sacrificing so much to get it.
With the the close of my first semester of college on the horizon, I've honestly never felt so accepted, so real to so many people. Despite all the whining of losing what I've had, I've gained so much more. I've completely reevaluated myself in the last four days, I think the events are finally catching up to me and I am finally happy where things are at.
On that note, it is possible that I'll be moving to Raleigh sometime soon. Dad may be getting an extremely well-paying job, and he'd be living in Raleigh and coming home only on the weekends. If we move, it will be the last sacrifice we'll have to make. We'll have a bigger house, and more comfort money. We're so ridiculously tight on money right now with dad being unemployed. I'd be going to NC State and seeing friends who I still mean something to, and I could get that graphic design major there in a four-year setting. It's lined up so perfect, I'm just scared of leaving behind everything that I've worked for this semester and whatever happens next semester.
I guess we'll see.

So, my University Studies class likes to take exotic trips halfway across campus to get tours of random buildings. Today was the Wellness Center, a half hour walk away from where the class normally is, which is in the same building that my Sociology class is (see hw below). The tour guide person kept us until 11:53-ish and my Soc class was at noon. Sooo... I was like half an hour late in a 50 minute class. I have to talk to my teacher about my paper in like five minutes.

Fuck teachers who give assignments via email on Sunday and expect them on Monday.
For this assignment, use the theoretical perspectives of Durkheim, Marx, and Weber to write an essay analyzing the “Opportunity NYC” program described in the press release below. Your essay should answer the guiding questions, but should be organized in the form of an essay, rather than as point-by-point answers to the questions.
Please type your answers, then print them out and turn them in at the beginning of class on Monday, Oct. 8. Please double-space, use 12 pt. font and 1 in. margins, and put your ID number on top of the page, rather than your name. Essays should be 3-4 pages long. If you cite the press release, theorists’ writings, or other sources, be sure to include a reference to these.
Something like six people showed up for my art class today, this is out of almost 30. That shows you how much everyone hates that class, haha. I would scan stuff, but I don't see the point. We draw still lifes, we told him we're bored of those, so he lets us pick spots in the various halls of the building and tells us to draw the hallway in one-point perspective. Ugh.
My old high school has uniforms starting this year, if I haven't mentioned it. Apparently this has led to increased gang activity (lol) in the school and apparently there's a gun scare going on now? I don't know, I got my info from my weirdo friends. I just think it's hilarious, apparently the school isn't doing any better with the uniform policy than without.
And can someone please explain to me why Nintendo did that ESA thing to protect some of their games to be downloaded as ROM's? I can understand some of the Mario games, since they get remade every five minutes, but what about games like... Earthbound? Pokemon Snap? Why those games, instead of uhhh... the first few Final Fantasies that keep coming out?
On a perhaps related note, can someone recommend some good Dreamcast games I may not have heard of?
