What video game is your personal Game of the Year?
Submitted by SimpleNate.
Fucking Pokemon Diamond.
I've been playing it for what? 6 months straight?
I promise there will be a real post soon.
What are your plans for the weekend?
Well, I had to skip out on seeing Pirates 3 last night with basically a busload full of Asians. XD
I kind of hate the Pirates movies, but I watch them anyway, because they're like Star Wars. Everyone goes to see them, so you have to as well.
I woke up abruptly at like 530, couldn't get back to sleep, so I spent until noon getting up to the Elite Four in Pokemon Diamond. Yep. I think my pokemon are about ten levels lower than they're supposed to be. I feel like I'm just barely surviving everything. I came out of Victory Road with just a Rapidash left because I was running away from everything, I was completely out of Revives, healing items, etc. Haha.
Annnnnnnd now I'm going back and forth between my sketchbook and Photoshop figuring out the best way to do this whole webcomic thing. So far I've been working for four hours. :(
I'm almost up to 30 hours of senior project time. 50 hours in Pokemon. >_>
What is the most creative gift you have ever given or received?
Submitted by Nacwolin.
This is a tie between a book that Nikita wrapped up over and over until it looked like she was giving me a shoebox, and the card Rachel S. gave me for Christmas.
Nikita's present gets awesome points because I hardly knew her and she was giving me presents for my birthday and Christmas. How amazing is that? I gave her something nice back for Christmas. She wrapped it so many times, and each time was a different paper, and when I got down to the last few, she wrote funny things on the paper, etc. It was just so awesome.
Rachel's card had a whole bunch of pictures of the two of us together and had a gigantic and descriptive list of reasons as to why she thinks I rule. For a while, I kept it in my backpack to pull out whenever I felt like crap, then I eventually displayed it in my room. It was like a card filled with self-esteem, and it's probably one of my favorite 'gifts' in general.
What's some good advice you've given to a friend, but not followed yourself?

Have you ever had a dream that came true?

Have you ever had plastic or elective surgery? Did you tell anyone? Why or why not?
Submitted by Beth Punches.
It's technically plastic surgery, but it would eventually have to be removed. Two years ago I got two cysts removed from next to my right eye. One of them was large enough to block the corner of my eyesight. In middle school I was picked on because of it constantly. So yeah, my parents and I made the decision years later to get it removed, but by that time, another one formed just above it. So they took that one out first as a test to see what it was.
And I don't really bring it up to people, no particular reason. It's just not significant to me.

She sits on the corner and waits for me as she always does. I'm late as always. I'm always late for everything, she tells me. She doesn't actually care that I am late. All there is at this moment is her, myself, a station wagon with the windows rolled down and playing music softly, and the road. After losing interest in the light show going across the street, we hold hands, lay back, and look up at the stars. Clouds cover half of the sky. The moon shines brightly, sending rays bouncing off of clouds and onto the grass and the damp pavement around us. Her eyes must look beautiful with the reds and yellows of traffic going by.
We talk about things like this, never looking at eachother. I don't want the eye contact, at this point, I am crying. She might be crying, too. Her voice quivers and shakes, her hand twitches. I want to avoid the glance, I keep my voice smooth and speech swift.
I do not remember a single word I said that night except "yes."
She gets up, still holding my left hand. With her other hand she fumbles around in her pocket and pulls out her keys. They jingle themselves.
"Let's go for a ride," she says.
-written February 5th, 2006 about an event that took place in October of 2004.
Someone asked me how she would be able to jingle her keys at me if the car radio was running. It wasn't, her radio only played tapes, and her front speakers didn't work, so she had a boombox in the back seat, along with a shitload of musical instruments we'd play.
What's your suggestion for the Question of the Day?

What are the 10 most memorable music performances you've seen? (Remember, "memorable" may not be good.)
Submitted by Bill.
10. The first time Brad and I saw Chet Stedman. Every time we see those guys (who are now Tarantuloco) is a blast, but the first time was and still is the best.
9. Norma Jean at Tremont in 2005. I think I almost got killed at that show. The whole group of 2500 people were moving back and forth violently, there was moshing all around and people finally started falling on eachother. My head got stepped on, haha.
8. Swift at Somewhere Else, it was my first show ever and it was a really great experience. There's things that happened during it that were pretty funny, but it's better if I just tell the story in person.
7. Phoenix Bodies at FTKF, I'm going to be mentioning this show a lot, haha. They played the loudest out of all the bands there, and I was at the front. I seriously thought I was going to lose my hearing, but I couldn't get out of there. Eventually, their vocalist, Derek, started stripping and he took this photographer's camera and took a picture inside his shorts and handed it back to him. By the end of the show Derek was naked, haha.
6. Kylesa at The Flying Anvil this time last year. It was about time I got to see one of my absolute favorite bands live. :) I missed like fifty opportunities to see them, both before and after that show, haha.
5. Circa Survive at Greene Street last Summer. That whole show was amazing, but obviously CS was the best there. My memory's a little fuzzy, but there were phosphorescent beach balls being bounced around and I think Brad hit Anthony in the face, haha! Afterwards, we got to meet Anthony and he was really fun to talk to. We got him to sign a bunch of stuff too.
4. Boa Narrow at FTKF. I had never heard of them before, despite being local. They arrived late, so they didn't have a lot of time to play, so they started off with one of their songs and just improvised off of it. It was a really awesome set, and I get to finally see them again next week.
3. We Versus the Shark at Two Art Chicks last week was really incredible.
They have so much energy and I love how much they goof off and improvise in their set. Their musical style in general is quite varied, and there's some aspect about them that would suit everybody, which helps.
2. I Would Set Myself on Fire for You at Green Street on my birthday, 2005.
Circle Takes the Square ran into van trouble, so they couldn't make it, but this was still one of the best shows of my life because of iwouldetc. These guys play the best live show you will ever get a chance to see. If you hear anything about them coming to your town DO NOT PASS IT UP. Even if you don't like the music, you will not be disappointed.
1. La Quiete at FTKF.
This was their second show on their first tour through America. They were thanking us between each song and the whole crowd was "no, thank you!" Everything in that moment just felt really surreal, and I think that at For the Kids Fest, for the first time, I understood what the music really meant. There was a whole lot of passion and sincerity in that performance, and I wish it was something everyone could expereince.
