I have never been more inspired to do things. Too bad it's midnight!
We might have to board up the couch that everyone was on my last birthday party. Get more than than two people on it and it creaks and pops and it doesn't make my dad too happy. I don't think Roger will be able to hang out in the living room anymore unless he brings his own chair.
Metaknight is still the best character in Brawl. Everyone hates me playing as him because he's just SO GOOD. Some complained that I'm too repetitive, but 1) his moves are all basically little variations of the same things, his down+B is useless, and everything else is a flurry of rapid slashes; 2) it works EVERY TIME. It's kinda like complaining that a Sub-Zero player freezes his opponent so much... that's why Sub-Zero is GOOD! Jerks.
I need a Wii, and more Xbox Live Gold time. Team Fortress 2 is my CALLING, man.
I'm doing WORK the next two days! BLAH.
I keep losing important things, like wallets, keys, full notebooks, and now headphones. At least I haven't lost my cell phone yet. I should just start attaching everything to me. I used to use a wallet that was chained to my belt loop, I should employ that again.
Also, EarthBound is amazing. It kind of makes me want to be like this guy.
Something like six people showed up for my art class today, this is out of almost 30. That shows you how much everyone hates that class, haha. I would scan stuff, but I don't see the point. We draw still lifes, we told him we're bored of those, so he lets us pick spots in the various halls of the building and tells us to draw the hallway in one-point perspective. Ugh.
My old high school has uniforms starting this year, if I haven't mentioned it. Apparently this has led to increased gang activity (lol) in the school and apparently there's a gun scare going on now? I don't know, I got my info from my weirdo friends. I just think it's hilarious, apparently the school isn't doing any better with the uniform policy than without.
And can someone please explain to me why Nintendo did that ESA thing to protect some of their games to be downloaded as ROM's? I can understand some of the Mario games, since they get remade every five minutes, but what about games like... Earthbound? Pokemon Snap? Why those games, instead of uhhh... the first few Final Fantasies that keep coming out?
On a perhaps related note, can someone recommend some good Dreamcast games I may not have heard of?
The more technical and advanced a fighting game claims to be is directly proportional to how much time you spend not being able to do anything. I still hate you, Dead or Alive 4.
I'm hanging out with Michaela tomorrow. Weird.
I really, really, really want Persona 3. I'm seriously think about skipping out on all those plans listed below just so I'll have the money to afford it. A lot of those are looking pretty damn impossible anyway. I have to go to the Bronzed Chorus/GIANT show because Brad is making me tape it. So that'll be on YouTube in a few weeks, I guess.
I still haven't uploaded those pictures of last year's FTKF for that guy. I guess I'll start that up. Prepare for a picture flood, haha.
My day was reduced to homework, room-cleaning, waiting on this auction to alllmost finish (I will kill you if you ruin this for me), and writing songs to record at some point.
I want one of those adapters that lets you plug your guitar into your computer. That would make things so much simpler.
That's graduation request #2. #1 is a Wii console.
Speaking of videogame consoles, I haven't really turned on my X360 in... maybe a month? I don't know. It's been on a little bit, but I have used it for much until the other night. Well, now it randomly freezes up and it makes a really scary noise when it's reading a disc, I think the lens is sitting really high, or the tray too low, I don't know. But I'm going to call up Microsoft tomorrow after I get my art slides sent in. I mean, I'm probably still under warranty, I don't really know how long it lasts for, but I've only had it since late October or something.
& my friend Kaity stepped on basically a headphone jack and it went through her heel. :(
That has to hurt soooo bad.
Okay, some interesting moments in my life.
1) I honestly don't know whether I am single or not right now and I do not know what I want. Just so as not to confuse you, this is as of yesterday, not today.
2) I got an Xbox 360 last night along with the Gears of War limited edition. I am insanely happy with my purchase, aside from a random moment this morning where the audio wires weren't working correctly and making weird, very loud noises out of my TV speakers. That seems to have fixed itself. I'll write more about Gears of War later.
3) I went to the movies with Nikita, Bea, Tyler, Stephanie, Vanessa, and a few other people I don't know and didn't catch the names of. Aside from Vanessa, these are all newly acquired friends and I consider them to be nearly everything I have right now. So yeah, Stranger Than Fiction was one of those movies that I don't know how to rate. It does its job cleanly and walks away. Thanks to Chuck Palahniuk's excellent writing, this is most likely Will Ferrel's funniest movie. Mainly because he's not constantly trying to be funny. Rather, it's not the characters themselves that are funny, but how the plot is that draws constant laughter. Just like any Palahniuk book, the plot is barebones and serious, but bitingly sarcastic. I loved it, and I think it's something everyone should see.
4) I'm working on a new image in charcoal and giving up on the painting for now. I hate it. THis new one is of an old, beaten up TV. The glass is cracked, but you can still see the image on the screen in a kaleidovision sort of way. It's a good idea that Mrs. Coggins helped me think of.
5) Monday is my birthday, in case I haven't mentioned it.
6) Smile and be happy! :D
I haven't posted in like a week. I needed a break from the internet, mostly. I've been doing a lot of painting in the past week, moreso than even usual, and I just haven't had enough material to fill a post with or not enough time to write one.
My 18th birthday is in six days. I'm pretty sure I'm getting an Xbox 360. Dad's made no mention of games yet, which is weird, I hope he doesn't just pick out a random crappy one without asking me. I'm also going to see if I can just get the router moved into my room to make online play easier, it'd also hopefully keep me from disconnecting for entire days whenever my router's being fickle.
Why aren't I getting the Wii? It's kind of simple, really. Every time I read something about the Wii, I just read about how little of an improvement it is over the current market, how well or not the controller is implemented, prices of Virtual Console games, etc. Everything I hear about it makes me want to get it less and less. Meanwhile, I have several friends, in person or not who play their 360's online, the system has the big improvements over last generation systems, it has a huge online market but nothing is insanely expensive, and it's already doing very solid.
I bought Final Fantasy XII a few days ago, I still owe dad about half of the money for it. It's a glorious game! :D I finally got the in-game money situation covered, so I'm beginning to have a really good team going. I'm at the tomb where you get the Dawn Shard, right now. I'm going to be playing it until my parents come home with new paintbrushes. XD
And my party is going to be the 25th, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Brad's going to be able to make it. :D
And I think that's all for now.
Yesterday, me and the parents hung out with Tiffany and the runts again. They're nice people. We're all really close family friends now, something we've never had to this extent before. I wonder how long things will stay this way.
So today, from about 1pm to now, 8:30pm, I've been working rather hard on a painting. I'd take a picture, but what I have going so far isn't really worth it. I do have a study of a wolf uplaoded here, just so I could get some help on it. The version that's on the canvas right now is a bit skinnier, just to make it not look as bear-ish as it does (to Alan). I have 3/4 of the canvas covered in paint, there's a section that I just cannot get into with the only brush I was able to find from two years ago. I need a much smaller one for details and I wasn't able to find any. Now that it's drying, I can see several areas that I can improve tonight. I feel horrible that I just cannot finish this picture tonight, even if I had everything I needed. Grr!
I'm getting FFXII tomorrow, or at least whenever Circuit City gets it in. It's $37 there. Thanks, Tony!
And I'm hitting a little weirdness in my Wii decision. I'm starting to think that I want an X360 instead. I feel like it's too much money for me to push it back. I could get just the system and a game between my birthday and Christmas, and then maybe buy another game and controller with the Christmas money and save the rest to buy the Wii by summer. That makes more sense to me.
I just don't know. The only game I want in 2006 for the Wii is Zelda, so I can wait. I just want to be sure I get it eventually, you know? I have a money-saving problem. XD
And that's all for now.
I'll post Converge links in the morning.
I'm also uploading all bazooka videos from Greg's grad party onto YouTube tomorrow.
Today was a big eyeopener in regards to Greg, he's done a lot of interesting stuff, but nothing he really wants people to know about. I'll keep it all hush-hush. I don't know why everyone tells their secrets to me. Well, me and Greg are family to eachother, so it's cool. Here's some pictures.
